The UCP Twitter Patrol is essentially a way of turning every voter in the disability community into an effective poll monitor. After all, no one is going to look out for our rights unless we do it first.
The way it works is simple: Voters from all across the country report on accessibility conditions at their polling place via Twitter, then we post all those tweets on this blog in an easy-to-reference format.
It's just one more way that social media are changing how people with disabilities participate in society.
United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) is the leading source of information on cerebral palsy and is a pivotal advocate for the rights of persons with any disability. As one of the largest health charities in America, the UCP mission is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities through an affiliate network. Learn more about UCP at our website: www.ucp.org.
